STAndards-Based Measure of Proficiency (STAMP) Test
This Spring more than 1400 students working in 9 different languages will be taking AVANT Assessment's proficiency tests in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, also known as STAMP.
Besides giving students some important information about their progress in the language, results from the STAMP can be used when seeking employment, applying for scholarships, or accessing credentials like the Global Seal of Biliteracy.
Testing begins April 12 and continues throughout the term. Interested students can take a brief practice test so they'll know what each section of the STAMP is like. The speaking section of the test, which involves recording your responses to 3 different kinds of situations, can be a bit unnerving if you've never done that before.
All testing takes place in McKenzie Hall computer labs and classrooms.
For the week of May 13-17, we are testing second and third-year Japanese classes Monday-Wednesday, and first year Spanish students on Friday. Makeup tests are scheduled f0r Monday, May 13 from 4-7 p.m.
