  • Ethnologue - An on-line database listing basic information (location, population, classification, dialects, etc...) on over 6,700 languages spoken in 228 countries.
  • Foreign Language Resources on the Web - A collection of links providing information on 18 different languages.
  • VCU "Trail Guide" - A guide to International sites and language resources.
  • I Love Languages - This site offers "a comprehensive catalog of language-related Internet resources."
  • Less Commonly Taught Languages Project - A site intended to put information about Less Commonly Taught Languages (LCTLs) out on the web. (LCTLs include languages other than English, French, German, and Spanish.)
  • Linguasphere Observatory - a research network focused on the classification of the world's languages and dialects and the the study and promotion of multilingualism. Site contains extracts from the Linguasphere Register of the World's Languages and Speech Communities - a comprehensive and transnational classification of the languages and dialects of the world.
