Welcome to the Yamada Language Center!

We are the University's service and technology center for language teaching and learning.

Besides supporting teaching efforts in Romance Languages, East Asian Languages, German and Scandinavian, REESC, and the American English Institute, we're also the home for the World Languages Academy and the Selfstudy Language Program, two innovative programs focused on expanding opportunities for the study of "less commonly taught languages" at UO.

Let us help you make your language teaching/learning more meaningful and productive.

True, we love life, not because we are used to living, but because we are used to loving.
There is always some madness in love, but there is also always some reason in madness.

-- Francesco Petrarch, 14th c. Italian Poet
