From Polka to Banda: Mexican Music across BordersWe will see how German immigrants brought their polka music with them when they migrated to Mexico in the 1800s. After 100 years, the Northern Mexicans now play this music under a different name - banda - and immigrants have also brought it with them to the United States. This music can be found on many radio stations even in Eugene, OR today. This presentation will show a short video from the Latin Grammys. Location: Pacific 11
