All computers in the Yamada Language Center are equipped with Call Recorder for Skype, an add-on for making Skype calls into movies. You can use Call Recorder for recording Skype interviews, making lesson videos, and more.
Using Call Recorder
1. Open Skype by clicking on its icon. The Call Recorder window will automatically launch with Skype (you can also go to View > Call Recorder):

2. To record a Skype call, first place a call and make sure your audio/video settings are correct. Then when you are ready, click the red dot Record button (
) once. The indicator will flash red when you are recording.
3. The Record button will automatically change to the Stop button (
) while recording. Click this button once to stop your recording. After you stop recording, the file will automatically be saved to the computer (default folder is Movies). Note: If you start a new recording, once you stop it will be saved as a separate file.
Tips
- Each time you start and stop a recording, a new file will be made and saved to the computer. To pause your recording, hold down the Option key while recording and the Stop button (
) will change to the Pause (
) button. Click this button while holding Option to temporarily pause your recording. When clicked again, the recording will start again without starting a new file. - It's a good idea to make a quick test video to make sure your settings are correct. To change the settings, go to Skype > Preferences > Recording.
