
Mellel is a right-to-left text editing program. Mellel is a great word processor for reading and writing Arabic and Hebrew because it is easy to change the direction of the text.

Tips and Tutorials
Opening Files:
When you open Mellel, a new document will automatically appear.
- To create a new document go to File Menu > New.
- To open an existing document go to File Menu > Open.

Aligning Text:
This is the Left justified text button. That means that all of the lines of text in this paragraph will line up with the left margin.
This is the Centered text button. That means that all of the lines of text in this paragraph will be centered between margins.
This is the Right justified text button. That means that all of the lines of text in this paragraph will line up with the right margin.

Text Direction:
To change the direction of the text, click on the Paragraph Direction button, located at the top of the document. Or, you can change the text direction by going to Edit > Right to Left or Left to Right.

Spacing:
- Select the paragraphs for which you want to change line spacing by highlighting them.
- From the Tool Box, select Alignment and Spacing.
- Type in the Amount box the amount of spacing you would like (1 = regular spacing, 2 = double spacing).

Using Spell Check
- Go to Edit > Spelling: Spelling...
- The misspelled words will be highlighted and a box will suggested the correct spelling which you can either choose to correct or ignore.
