Setting up to use IPA
1) Application - IPA requires word processor that's unicode-compliant. Curently, both Microsoft Word 2011 and mac's built-in texteditor supports Unicode.
2) Keyboard Layout - To type in IPA, you need to install the custom keylayout. If you have not installed IPA keyboard layout, go to the link below:
3) Font - In order to read IPA, it requires you to use font that can display Unicode characters. If you have not installed any of them, follow the instruction below:
- Download Unicode-encoded font (Charis SIL, Doulus SIL, Gentium...)
- Extract the zip file and locate the file with extention ".ttf"

- Go to Finder >>> Library >>> Fonts and drag the ".tff" file into that folder
- When typing in IPA, set the font to newly installed font.
