Amiga: Makes Speech as Easy to Work With as Text
Amiga LiveChat is the Yamada Language Center’s latest speech tool for web-based communication. Designed as both a standalone application and as a plug-in for the Blackboard course management system (pictured), Amiga LiveChat adds multimedia to computer-mediated communication.
In addition to chatting with text, instructors and students can conference via audio and/or video. Amiga LiveChat personalizes virtual office hours, makes tutoring more focused, and sets up forums for student-to-student discussions. Amiga LiveChat is currently in beta testing with a variety of courses, foreign language and others, at the University of Oregon.
