Wondering how you can apply your language study?

Check out this booklet (right) filled with scholarship, internship, and other language opportunities.

Keys to Success

1) Come to class with a question, a dialogue, or text; use your classmates, tutors, and others for daily practice.
2) Do something in (not just with) the language everyday; reflect (in your portfolio) what you've learned and how you've learned it.
3) Get familiar with the resources at Yamada.
4) Get lots of input (see a film or watch the news once a week.)
5) Pay attention to meaning more than form (focus on understanding, rather than memorizing.)

Out-of-Class Practice

Out-of-class communication is possible through your Blackboard course web site (voiceboards and chat). The Language Exchange may help you find a conversation partner; activities sponsored by the ISA and OIP are good ways of meeting international students at UO and getting exposed to many different cultures.
