Isaure: Hi, Dad, it is Isaure.
Father: Oh, it is you !
Isaure: I wanted to call you to wish you a happy birthday.
Father: yes, that is so nice, it pleases me. You are lucky to reach me because as a birthday present, I decided to stay at home this afternoon, instead of working. That is why you can reach me at home.
Isaure: Then that is why…, I tried your office earlier but nobody was there.
Father: That is the reason.
Isaure: Well, that is fine, that's a nice present.
Father: Right, right.
Isaure: Otherwise, is the weather good in Strasbourg?
Father: No, in Strasbourg, winter is already here, however, 55 years ago when I was born, I was told that the weather was very very nice, and that the musical harmony of Saint Louis was rehearsing.
Isaure: You see, in Paris, there is sunshine but it is very cold. We are taking out gloves, scarves and hats,. everything.
Father: Here, the weather is really uncomfortable, the temperature is between 32 and 35 Fahrenheit, and it is wet, and, well, very unpleasant.
Isaure: Really?!!
Father: That is how it is.
Isaure: Otherwise, how is grandma doing?
Father: Listen, I called her yesterday, I planned to do so because she told me that she doesn't have my number, so it was the chance for her to wish me a happy birthday.
Isaure: Yes.
Father: Otherwise, she told me that she makes plenty of tomatoes, then, always the same, that she seems to be doing well but she still has trouble walking, I am scared it won't change now.
Isaure: Oh, it is such a pity,
Father: Anyway, the weather is as bad here as there
Isaure: Well, it might be very bad everywhere in France
Father: Apparently yes, perhaps not in few places in the south of France where it is windy. Anyway it is really bad here.
Isaure: Oh, I have to tell you, I went to see a movie. It was really good. I think you may like it : "Tom Thumb." Did you see it?
Father: No, no, it is more than a year since I have been to the theater
Isaure: Really? I love the cinema, and I go to the theater every weekend. I try…
Father: But is it for adults?
Isaure: It is for both, children and adults.
Father: Oh really, it is not only for kids?
Isaure: No. Did you already get a phone call from Aymeric and Avoise?
Father: No, not yet. (…) He called me for a long time, it was nice, I took the occasion to wish him a happy feastday, because it is his name day today.
Isaure: Yeah, that's right.
Father: It wasn't very hard
Isaure: I told him too.
Father: Otherwise, I was happy, I received an electronic message, an email, that's what we say?
Isaure: Yes, from Al?
Father: From Romania, wishing me a happy birthday
Isaure: From Romania? How did he know (your address)?
Father: Well, I guess he saw it on a some document.
Isaure: From someone he works with?
Father: Yes, he may have seen that while filling out a form… to be invited there, or something else. He found the information, and so now he writes me regularly, which is really kind of him
Isaure: Yeah, that is nice.
Father: Very nice, yes.
Isaure: Well, I see you don't have that much work today. It is going to be a quiet day.
Father: But I will call my student tonight. He had an important surgery today. He jogged for a while, and now has a big problem with his knee so the doctors make him something, I do not really know what, a scanner of his knee, they will try to make it better.
Isaure: Ouch
Father: I will call tonight to know find out how it went.
Isaure: Yes.
Father: And me, I have an appointment the day after tomorrow at the hospital to make an appointment for September.
Isaure: Well.
Father: That's all
Isaure: All good news, it is better to be kept busy by these things.
Father: Well, one more time thank you
Isaure: Best wishes, and I will see you soon when I come for Christmas!
Father: Okay.
Isaure: Great big kisses.
Father: Bye.
Isaure: Tchao.
