Many Canadians have computers at home with Internet access. Municipal libraries have computers available, and in some cases, it is possible to call ahead to make reservations. Large privately owned chain libraries offer a computer room, and there are cybercafes where one can get an account. It is not unusual to find occasional bookstores with computers to rent. Internet coffee shops are less common than in the United States; however, they do exist. In the smaller towns throughout Canada, residents without home access use the local libraries.
