It is always permissible to ask strangers for directions. In addition, one can go to a store or restaurant or check with one of the many tourist information centers in cities, malls and small towns. Maps are sold in many places, so it is easy to get help finding one’s destination. Cities were designed in a linear, orderly fashion, and streets are well-marked with signs that make finding places simple.
